Humankind release date delayed to August

March 25, 2021 The Humankind release date has been delayed to August 17, 2021.

Humankind is the highly anticipated historical turn-based strategy game coming from Amplitude Studios, creator of the rather excellent strategy games Endless Space and Endless Legend. It’s being published by SEGA and represents a new take on the 4X game genre. It’s got Firaxis' Civilization in its sight and is coming for the crown. As of right now, we know when the war will begin.

After announcing an April release, Sega has delayed the Humankind release date to August 17, 2021 to give them extra development time and improve aspects of the game that came to light during the OpenDev sessions run in the community. This will include working to improve accessibility, pacing, and balancing, diplomacy, and AI, among other things. The news of a Humankind delay does bring with it treats for patient players, including two new avatar sets if you pre-order the game.

Humankind will be available not only on PC and Mac, across all your potential platforms of choice: Steam, the Epic Games Store, and even Google Stadia, all from day one.
