Looking for how to take down the new boss, Balor, and obtain his spear? First you'll need to take on the Children of Danu quest in Wrath of the Druids. The Children of Danu feature heavily in the main story of Wrath of the Druids, to the point that it's only possible to kill certain Danu as part of story missions. Therefore, you need to finish the story before you can complete the Children of Danu quest, so go ahead and do that and don't worry about rushing to finish off the evil priests.
When you complete the story, you ought to have four Danu remaining, with one lead to investigate on two of them (this was the case for us, and we hadn't done any investigating outside of the story). Following these clues will lead you to the remaining undiscovered Danu - you don't have to do any other activity to generate the leads you need.
